NorthEdge’s Clearly Drinks acquires Powerful Water Company rights

NorthEdge Capital‘s Sunderland-based flavoured water producer Clearly Drinks has acquired IP and distribution rights for the Powerful Water Company, a Dorset business in the same sector.

NorthEdge, which focuses on businesses in the north of England and the Midlands, first backed Clearly Drinks in April 2017 in the fourth investment from the firm’s second fund, which closed at £315m (€356.1m) in 2016.

Clearly Drinks’ brands include Perfectly Clear, 1870 Mixers and Northumbria Spring, all of which are made with water from the company’s own spring. It reported turnover of £13.5m for the year ending 31 December 2016.
