Core Capital has taken a minority stake in Alpine Fire Engineers, a UK provider of fire suppression systems.
Financial details weren’t disclosed, but Core typically initially puts a sum between £5m and £15m (€5.7m and €17m) into the businesses it backs.
The investment has been made through Core’s second fund, which closed at €85m in 2015.
Based in Littleborough in Greater Manchester, Alpine designs, installs and services sprinklers, hosereels and other products used to put out or prevent fires. The business generates around £15m of annual revenues and employs 30 people.
Core’s investment will be used to develop Alpine’s offering to clients and its IT systems.
Last week, Core Capital was acquired by debt investor ESO Capital. The underwriting and structuring of the Alpine transaction has been supported by the whole ESO team, a person with knowledge of the transaction told Real Deals.
