James Grant Group, the talent agency whose clients include Ant and Dec, has received strong interest from a group of private equity firms as it holds talks on a possible £140m (€158.9m) sale.

Sky News reports that Bowmark Capital, Inflexion Private Equity and Trilantic Partners are among the the potential buyers. Lazard is understood to be running the sale and final bids are due at the end of the month.

James Grant was founded in 1984 and, in addition to Ant and Dec, its clients include celebrities Davina McCall, Louis Tomlinson and Tess Daly. The company is part-owned by private equity house Metric Capital Partners, which backed the business in 2014. Previously it also received backing from Gresham.

In 2017 James Grant merged with rival agency Troika, which manages the likes of Graham Norton and Michael Fassbender. The deal increased the size and range of products supplied by James Grant.

According to Companies House documents the business posted operating profit of £149,000 to the end of August 2017, down from £764,000 in the 2016 financial year.
