Equistone Partners Europe has bulked up its investment team with the hire of Sebastien Leusch.

Investment director Leusch joins Equistone’s Manchester office from Montagu Private Equity, where he spent nine years.

He has worked on the management buyout of Paris-based healthy spread manufacturer St Hubert, which Montague bought in 2012 for €430m, as well as the acquisition of Polish transmission tower operator Emitel in a 2011 deal valued at €425m.

Prior to joining Montagu, Leusch worked for PwC and UBS.

Leusch will work with the Manchester team to grow and support Equistone’s Northern portfolio, which represents combined revenues of £1.6bn and around 4,000 employees.

“[Leusch] has demonstrated an ability to identify and secure key investments and manage those companies through to exit,” Equistone senior partner Steve O’Hare said. “[He] is well known in the northern deal community and also has expertise across a range of sectors and geographies, which will add value to the team at Equistone.”
