Growth capital investor Next Wave Partners has hired veteran chief executive Mark Cappell as a senior adviser.
Cappell has served as chief executive of a number of software companies including Smartstream Technologies, which was backed by TA Associates and sold to DIFC for £250m in 2007.
Since then he has been the chief executive of another five private equity-backed companies. In addition, he has managed a significant number of due diligence and turnaround engagements for private equity firms.
At Next Wave Cappell will provide portfolio companies with advice on strategy, sales and marketing and offer implementation support where needed.
The hire follows Next Wave’s appointment of Oliver Hemsley, the founder of Numis Securities, as a special adviser.
Next Wave said its portfolio companies have performed well over the last year, delivering a weighted average growth in revenue of more than 30 per cent.
