Electra Private Equity creates CFO role

Listed trust Electra Private Equity has appointed a new chief financial officer.

Gavin Manson joins the company from holiday business Thomas Cook Group, where he was finance director for its tour operations and hotels and resorts division. He previously held finance roles at Premier Farnell, Merck Group, Drambuie Group and Lees Group.

The role of chief financial officer is a newly created position for Electra Private Equity, which in May gave notice of termination of its investment agreement with Electra Partners.

Activist investor Edward Bramson, who led a strategy review, is currently interim chief executive officer, while two non-executive directors with investment experience, David Lis and Paul Goodson, have also been appointed.

However, Electra has seen incumbent board members Dame Kate Barker, Francesca Barnes and Josyane Gold all depart since May.

“This is an important new role and Gavin’s extensive financial experience within public companies will enable him to make a significant contribution to our business both during and after the review period,” said chairman Neil Johnson.
