While the halcyon market conditions that reached a crescendo in 2021 may not be repeated anytime soon, when can the industry expect to see things pick up again?
Well, on the fundraising side, not imminently, according to Gabrielle Joseph, head of due diligence and client development at Rede Partners.
The placement agent has seen a real slowdown around the momentum of fundraises, and it does not see this picking up pace in 2024.
However, Joseph tells Real Deals about other trends to look out for this year, including: sectors in which investor appetite is growing; specialisation of sector and investment styles; and how LPs are recognising the potential of AI to assess GPs.
