Former Bridgepoint investment director Fabian Braemisch will be the head of Gilde Healthcare’s new Frankfurt office, which will cover the DACH region.
Braemisch joined Gilde Healthcare as a partner in the services team after six years with Bridgepoint. He began his career in investment banking with Goldman Sachs in both London and Frankfurt.
Gilde Healthcare said that it will recruit more investment professionals for the German team in the next 12 months.
The new office will focus on lower mid-market healthcare service companies headquartered in the DACH region with Ebitda of between €2-15m and enterprise values of up to €150m. The equity ticket in a single transaction will be up to €50m.
According to Gilde Healthcare, the DACH region represents Europe’s largest healthcare market with an annual spend of more than €450bn, a stable regulatory environment and well-funded insurance systems.
The specialist private equity firm is already active in the region, after making an investment in outpatient radiology chain RAD-X in 2016 to consolidate the German, Swiss and French radiology market via a buy and build strategy.
