Deutsche Private Equity (DPE) has invested in Swiss IT consulting company AWK Group.

Zurich-headquartered AWK Group offers IT consulting, system engineering and project management services, employing more than 250 people across four locations in Switzerland. The company has realised around 300 projects this year and generates sales of more than CHF50m.

The company’s chief executive officer Oliver Vaterlaus will remain a shareholder, as will all AWK Group partners.

DPE’s investment will be used to expand AWK Group’s service portfolio and double its workforce.

DPE closed its third fund, Deutschland III, in January at the hard cap of €575m. The firm invests in SMEs across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and claims its portfolio companies increase turnover by 15 to 20 per cent on average.
