Investcorp has added another business heavyweight to its international advisory board.
The firm has brought in Deepak Parekh, chairman of Indian financial services conglomerate HDFC. Parekh has held the role since 1993 and spent a total of almost 40 years at the company.
Under his leadership HDFC has diversified into banking, asset management, education and real estate. Parekh has also advised the Indian government on policy.
He currently holds non-executive roles at GlaxoSmithKline, BAE Systems India and Siemens India.
Investcorp’s international advisory board is chaired by Mohammed Alardhi and includes former UN secretary general Kofi Annan, ex-Austria federal chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel and Mohamed El-Erian, former chief executive and co-chief investment officer of Pimco.
