Cloudreach, the UK-based cloud computing business backed by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities, has made its second bolt-on with the acquisition of US technology company Emerging Technology Advisors (ETA). Deal value was undisclosed.

ETA works with companies adopting cloud computing to modernise software applications and develop new ones through the use of new technologies like blockchain, machine learning and serverless architecture.

As businesses move their IT infrastructure onto cloud platforms, they are increasingly looking at how new applications can be developed using cloud principles.

The deal follows Cloudreach’s recent acquisition of US cloud computing analytics group Cloudamize.

Cloudreach is based in the UK and has worked with clients including Eurostar, the Met Office and Discovery Channel to tailor cloud solutions to their needs. The company is led by chief executive and founder Pontus Noren.

The business first received backing from Blackstone in February.
