Five former executives of Sabertia Capital Partners, a Barcelona-based placement agent, have launched Altment Capital Partners, a new advisory firm that will bring funds and co-investments opportunities to family offices and institutional investors based in Iberia, Latin America and Israel.
Altment Capital Partners has offices in Barcelona, Madrid, London and Tel Aviv, together with local partners in Chile, Brazil and the Middle East. The placement agent will raise capital for a limited number of funds and also offer direct deals and co-investment opportunities.
The new firm will be led by Sergi Martín, who will act as managing partner. Martín previously served as managing director of Sabertia and as chief executive officer of Crèdit Andorrà Asset Management.
The new placement agent has four other partners. Jose Maria Murciano was chief operating officer of Sabertia. Between 2008 and 2014, Murciano served as strategy consultant at Blue Ocean Value Consulting.
Jose Alba was head of sales in liquid funds at Sabertia. Before that, he served as head of Middle East sales at Capital Strategies Partners, an independent broker specialised in the distribution of third party funds. He has also worked as head of Japanese and Asian Equity Sales at Citigroup Spain and for Gulf Bank in Kuwait.
Juan Savino served as head of sales in Latin America at Sabertia. Before that, he worked as director of research for the Latin American Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, where he also served as a senior advisor. Previously, he worked as a research analyst for Bloomberg.
Jonathan Labaton was head of sales in Israel at Sabertia. Previously, he served as head of alternative investments at Migdal Insurance Company and for Merrill Lynch’s Private Wealth Management division in Israel.
