Ardian has sold its 15 per cent stake in French software business Clip Industrie to trade buyer Forterro, a US software group.

Based in the south of France, Clip publishes production management software for industrial SMEs. It serves clients in the aeronautics, car-making, medicine, rail and watch-making sectors, including suppliers to Airbus and Michelin.

Ardian acquired its stake in the business in 2013 through its SME investment division. During Ardian’s hold, the business has grown revenues and acquired another software publisher, Helios.

Forterro is owned by US venture and private equity firm Battery Ventures.
