Unigrains, a private equity firm focused on food and agribusiness investments, has acquired a minority stake in medical nutrition group Nutrisens.

Based near Lyon, Nutrisens develops and supplies nutrition products for those suffering from long-term conditions. It has annual sales of €60m.

Unigrains aims to help the business consolidate its position in the French market and develop internationally. Last year Unigrains hired a new business manager with a mandate to work on the internationalisation of the firm’s portfolio companies.

The company’s majority shareholder is French private equity firm Evolem.
