North UK-focused debt funds make senior hires

Two north UK-focused debt funds have made senior hires.

Manchester-based Infinity Asset Management has appointed Dave Furlong to manage the firm’s new debt fund. Furlong joins from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, where he was director of acquisition finance for the north of England.

Before that, he spent over a decade in debt-related roles at HSBC, most recently as head of leveraged finance for the north west and deputy head of leveraged finance for the north.

Toscafund has appointed Mark Metcalf as head of credit for its new Manchester-based regional debt fund. He joins Toscafund after spending over ten years in the Manchester office of Wells Fargo Capital Finance, where he was a credit risk director.

Metcalf has held senior roles at a number of other lenders, with a particular focus on asset-based lending. He was also closely involved in establishing and growing new regional offices for two other lenders, and hopes to use this expertise to help Toscafund expand its Manchester office.
