The UK private equity industry’s two leading charitable organisations have signalled their intention to join forces, becoming Impetus – The Private Equity Foundation.

Together, the organisations hope to commit more business expertise and funding to charities and social enterprises that endeavour to better the opportunities of disadvantaged young people.

Both organisations share the same remit, to equip children and young people with the characteristics, education, skills and opportunities to secure training or work and lead independent lives.

It is anticipated that the merger will go ahead in three months’ time, with Impetus chief executive Daniela Barone Soares taking the reins at the newly merged organisation and current Private Equity Foundation boss Shaks Ghosh stepping down after nearly six years.
