Andrew Hartley resurfaces at secondaries house

Andrew Hartley, the former managing director of August Equity who stepped down from his position at the firm last year, has resurfaced at Chamonix Private Equity.

Chamonix is a private equity firm specialising in the fast-growing European secondaries direct market, and Hartley joins the firm as a partner alongside founders Jane Crawford and Chris Edge.

“The secondaries direct market is one of the few private equity areas experiencing and expecting growth,” said Hartley. “It is a highly attractive area for investors and Chamonix is well positioned to grow. I’ve been very impressed with the team’s professionalism, commitment and passion to succeed, and I’m confident there is a very bright future for me here.”

Hartley left UK mid-market firm August last October, citing a need for a fresh challenge after more than 13 years at the firm.

Hartley was a founder of August, having joined its predecessor at Kleinwort Benson in 1995. Prior to this he spent eight years at 3i, having also worked in stockbroking and banking.
