WeComm has raised £3m (€4.4m) from existing backers Elderstreet Investments and Frontiers Capital.

WeComm, which specialises in interactive mobile data technology, has more than 35 patented and patent-pending technologies to improve the performance and reliability of content delivery over mobile networks.

The company recently launched Wave3, a streaming platform to deliver rich media content to mobile devices.

It is working with media companies, including BSkyB, Cantor Fitzgerald and Motorola, to provide rich mobile content to their customers.

The funding round will be used to invest in research and development, build up WeComm’s sales and marketing teams, and create new partnership agreements for Wave3.
