Foresight Venture Partners has backed the management buyout of a division of SEOS, a producer of immersive visual display technology.
The main application of its technology is in the flight simulator market, where the company’s through-the-window display systems are widely used by commercial and military customers.
Foresight backed the buyout of a non-core division of the company that applies the technology to the immersive theatre market.
Foresight invested from three of its VCTs, through Global Immersion, a new company set up to acquire the business.
The business is expected to achieve turnover of £4.2m (€6.2m) in the year following the buyout.
The company was set up by Martin Howe, who joined SEOS in 2003 to develop new applications for its core technologies.
