Hotspur Capital Partners has backed ScreenReach, an app developer, in a deal worth £500,000 (€581,000).
The Screach app is available on Android and the iPhone and enables brands and developers to connect smartphone content to other forms of media, such as television programmes and digital billboards. The company has created its own development language which will allow developers to write across multiple smartphone operating systems.
The Newcastle-based company received its first round of funding of £250,000 from Tom Maxfield, a founder of Sage. ScreenReach founder Paul Rawlings is one of 100 mentors on the recently launched Cambridge-based Springboard seed accelerator programme. Applicants to the programme have until 20 February to apply.
