Accel Partners has backed German online gaming company Gameforge with an undisclosed sum. Gameforge is a developer and publisher of online multiplayer games. It has developed its own games, including OGame and Vendetta, as well as licensing other companies’ games, which it translates, markets internationally and adapts to local cultural norms. It has published 12 games in 16 languages, and has around 40 million users. Based in Karlsruhe, the company was set up in 2003 and now has more than 40 employees.
