Vision Capital has acquired oil services company JDR Cable from Bridgepoint for more than £90m (€133m).

JDR, which makes "umbilical" cables and hydraulic equipment used in offshore oil exploration, was created through the combination of Jacques Cable Systems in the UK and De Regt Special Cable in the Netherlands ten years ago.

Bridgepoint bought the combined company for £36m in 1998. It has since moved the business's headquarters from Aberdeen to Texas, replaced the senior management team and expanded into Asia.
