Notion Capital has led a $5.5m (€4.26m) investment round in Zattikka, an interactive gaming company.
A group of high-net-worth individuals including Harald Ludwig also participated in the funding round.
Zattikka was founded by Tim Chaney and Mark Opzoomer, two former Virgin games executives. The company already has more than 100 games and is developing at least two games per week.
Since it was founded last year, Zattikka has a total of 77 million recorded game plays across its entire games portfolio. In September 2009, the company acquired Gimme5Games, which hosts titles such as the Phantom Mansion series.
"Over the past two years the consumer appetite for online gaming has increased significantly, with revenue already standing at over $2.25bn in 2008 and growing 20 per cent per annum. This much broader audience is being driven by females and premium gamers developing a passion for casual social gaming," said Chaney.
