Advent International has increased its offer for Polish retail chain EKO to PLN272m (€66.3m).
Last month Advent made a PLN228m bid for the company, which was supported by the Gradecki family, who own a 55 per cent stake in the business, but fell short of Mid Europa's offer.
The new offer will see Advent pay PLN5.6 per share, just above Mid Europa's offer of PLN5.5 per share. The Gradecki family has agreed to keep the non-core businesses in the holding group, which will reduce the company's debt pile by PLN65m.
