GMT Communications Partners has invested in Seagull, a provider of training systems and e-learning for seafarers.
Seagull has a library of computer-based training modules for use onboard vessels. Increasing levels of regulation are putting seafarers under increasing pressure to invest in cost-effective training. The company employs 104 employees and is headquartered in Norway. The company also has offices in Germany, Greece, Japan, Poland, Singapore and the UK.
The company was founded in 1996 by its chairman Oscar Johansen, a long-term maritime industry executive, and his business partner Bjørn LG Braathen.
