Macquarie Group has appointed Merrick McKay as head of European investments in the firm's London-based private markets team. 

In his new role, McKay will be responsible for sourcing, performing due diligence and monitoring private equity opportunities.

He joins from London Private Equity Futures and Options Exchange (PEFOX), where he was partner and chief operating officer.

Prior to that he was a director at Primary Capital for over 13 years. He has also held management positions at First Independent and Coopers & Lybrand.
