UK-based MB Aerospace, which is backed by LDC, has bought Gentz Industries.
MB Aerospace has operations in Motherwell, Derby and Burnley, and was acquired in 2007 by LDC. Since then the group has sold non-core subsidiaries MB Faber and MBAe Oil and Gas as part of a strategy to focus on its aerospace business.
US-based Gentz Industries manufactures engine components for customers such as Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
The deal will double the size of MB's revenues to more than $80m (€61.7m) per year and will increase the company's headcount to 400.
