Kirkland & Ellis is to set up an Asian private equity funds practice, relocating two partners to Hong Kong to run the department.

London partner Justin Dolling and New York partner Albert Cho will move to the region to set up the office.

Dolling joined Kirkland from SJ Berwin in January 2007. He advises private equity managers on structuring and creating private equity investment funds, restructuring and refinancing the funds and related buyout work.

Kirkland's Hong Kong office, which is staffed by ten private equity lawyers, has serviced some clients on fund formation matters to date, but the pair will be the office's first partners dedicated to the practice.
