Meet the team
Editorial:
Amy Carroll, Editor
Amy joined Real Deals in 2004 having covered the institutional investment market. She was previously editor of private equity news and research website AltAssets and a reporter for Private Banker International, a Lafferty Group publication. Amy graduated from Birmingham University in 2000.
Nicholas Neveling, Deputy Editor
Nicholas joined Real Deals in April 2008 and covers the UK mid-market and turnarounds for the magazine. Prior to this, Nicholas was a journalist at Accountancy Age, where he covered tax, audit and corporate finance.
Dom Tait, Associate Editor
Dom joined Real Deals in August 2008, initially as chief sub-editor. He also oversees web content for the magazine. Dom previously worked as a sub-editor at Business Monitor International.
James Harris, Reporter
James covered mid-market M&A before joining Real Deals in March 2010. He focuses on venture capital and Iberian private equity. James graduated from Edinburgh University in 2006.
Alice Murray, Reporter
Alice joined the editorial team in August 2010, having previously worked on the commercial side of Real Deals. She focuses on news and deal write-ups and assists with research projects. Alice graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA in Classical Civilisations.
Clare Haughey, Editorial Assistant
Clare joined Real Deals in January 2007 as an editorial assistant. She is responsible for delegating deals for the Done Deals section of the magazine and for uploading all news stories and magazine content.
Sales and Marketing:
Tom Holbourn, Head of Marketing
Tom is responsible for subscriptions, events and website marketing activity across the Real Deals portfolio of products. Tom was previously Senior Marketing Manager at Private Equity International and holds a BA in Politics from the University of Leicester.
Lola-Rose Maxwell, Advertising Manager
Lola-Rose is responsible for online and print advertising across the Real Deals portfolio, having initially joined Real Deals in October 2009 as Subscriptions Executive. Lola-Rose also works as a freelance voice-over artist, and graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA in Classics.
Tim Crowley, Advertising Manager
Tim is responsible for online and print advertising across the Real Deals portfolio. He joined the magazine in August 2009, having previously worked for a charity. Tim graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Economic and Social History.
Sophia William, Subscriptions Executive
Sophia is responsible for individual and company-wide subscriptions, account management, events and reprint services for Real Deals across France, Switzerland and the Nordic and Baltic regions. Sophia has a BA in Finance and Law from Bournemouth University.
